The INES Project at the University of La Serena focused on developing educational games and tools in collaboration with professionals from various fields such as Geography, Chemistry, and Design.
The Challenge:
From Theory to Experience The research department (INES-DIDULS) needed to validate new pedagogical methodologies. The challenge was complex: transforming dense academic research (Tsunami Prevention, Historical Cartography, Creativity) into engaging tools for digital-native students, without losing scientific rigor.

The Solution:
Playful Instructional Design Working closely with scientists and educators, I led the visual translation of these concepts:
- Applied Gamification: I designed the interfaces (UI) and game mechanics for the “Creativity” and “Prevention” Apps, implementing reward systems and levels to increase user retention.
- Hybrid Experience (Phygital): For the History project, I created an ecosystem blending a physical board game with digital components, laying the groundwork for an Augmented Reality experience.

The Result:
Impact & Continuity: The design approach enabled the transition from theoretical papers to functional Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) tested in real classrooms. The success of the History prototype secured funding for the research’s continuity.
